What one night actually changes
Since 2005, Destiny Foundation has hosted celebration feasts across Long Island for families and neighbors who are going through a hard time. The goal has never been a handout. It's dignity and joy: one evening where every guest walks in, sits down, and is treated as an honored guest, with a full meal, a beautiful room, and people glad they came.
What one feast looks like
Every feast follows the same simple idea: from the moment guests arrive to the moment they head home, the evening is planned around them. Here is how the night unfolds.

A welcome at the door
Guests are greeted at the door by volunteers.

A real seat at a real table
They sit at decorated tables with linens, not in a line.
- Step 3
Dinner, served
Volunteers serve a full plated holiday meal to every table.
- Step 4
A room full of entertainment
Entertainment fills the room: an MC, a DJ, costumed characters, face painters, balloon artists, and magicians.

Nobody leaves empty-handed
Every guest leaves with a raffle prize, so no one goes home empty-handed.
Why it's a celebration, not a soup kitchen
Families facing hardship rarely get a night out. Money goes to rent, bills, and groceries first, and celebrating gets pushed aside. A feast gives them that night back. Children get a party, with characters, music, and balloons, and parents finally get to sit down and be served instead of doing the serving.
That's why we build the room to feel like a celebration: linens on the tables, decorations on the walls, dinner brought to every seat. It isn't about extra touches for their own sake. It's because that's how our guests deserve to be treated.
Who makes it happen
Volunteers
Volunteers cook, serve, greet, decorate, entertain, and clean up. Every part of the night runs on people who give their time.
Donors and sponsors
Donors and sponsors fund the food, the decorations, the entertainment, and the raffle prizes. We're grateful to New York Online Realty, VESNOW, and AllSpaces for their support.
Community partners
Churches, schools, shelters, senior centers, and neighbors tell us who to invite, so the seats go to the people who need a night like this most.
